Regular Lessons

Learning music is much more than a hobby. Fully trained as a professional pianist and music teacher, Sharon understands the challenges that one might encounter, and also the pleasure and sense of achievement that brings. It is important to balance the two. With the right teacher, it also helps develop positive life traits like patience, perseverance and self-confidence.

With over 10 years of teaching experience, Sharon works with clients ranging from beginners to advanced music professionals. Her students have a high Distinction and Merit rate in graded exams. Sharon brings a wealth of experience in successfully preparing pupils for prestigious schools, including specialist music schools.

 

Lessons are taught on Boston grand piano. I'll provide guidance to keep you motivated and help make your musical journey enjoyable!

Piano Lessons

Lessons for adults and children and tailored to interests, levels and goals. There are wonderful ways to learn music that we can work around with.

I use the Piano Adventure and Piano Safari methods for younger beginners.

A typical lesson includes:

  • Developing good habits in posture and keyboard touch

  • Controlling tone and developing strength and flexibility

  • Understanding musical forms

  • Recommending music that suits your capabilities

  • Melody, harmony and rhythm

  • Developing your musical literacy

Exam & Audition Preperation

Taking an exam is a great way to keep track of progress and will get rewarded for your hard work! Before that, you will need to be well-prepared and confident in pieces, technical work and musicianship.

​

My studio maintains a passing rate of 100% and a high distinction or merit rate, I have successfully prepared pupils for prestigious schools, including specialist music schools. 

Piano Accompaniment

Working professionally with soloists and amateurs of all levels. I help you with your preparation for exams, auditions, recitals, and competitions. Accompaniment recordings for practice or performance are also available.
