Sharon Cheng is a collaborative pianist based in London. She gained her Master of Performance degree in Piano Accompaniment from Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she is now a staff pianist.
Performance highlights have included recitals at the World Youth & Children’s Choir Festivals, Roman River Music Festival, and broadcast on Radio Television Hong Kong. Sharon was a choral conductor at the Anglican Little Singers and Trinity Children's Choir. She also worked as a rehearsal pianist at the Hong Kong Youth Choir, Trinity Children's Choir, City Singers Aldgate, London's Transport (TfL) Choir and Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) staff choir.
Sharon actively participates in competitions and masterclasses. She was selected as Leeds Lieder Young Artist. She was a finalist in the British Art Song Competition and played for a masterclass with Dame Sarah Connolly. Sharon is the recipient of numerous awards including the Best Performance Award in the 11th Zhongsin International Music Competition (Singapore) and the 5th place in the Liszt Memorial Prizes - Hong Kong International Piano Open Competition and the Talent Development Scholarship from the Hong Kong Government Scholarship Fund.
Alongside performing, Sharon is a trained teacher and received a Bachelor of Education at the Education University of Hong Kong. She is a specialist teacher at independent day schools and works with private clients in her studio.
